Mr. Seitz, a native of Wilmington, graduated from the University of Virginia in 1971. He served as an officer in the United States Army Field Artillery. He began his legal carrier as a law clerk for the Delaware Supreme Court. He then served as a Deputy Attorney General and was later appointed to the position of Chief Prosecutor trying numerous felony and capital murder cases during the 1970's. He was appointed Chief Deputy Attorney General in 1976 representing the interests of the Office of Attorney General before the Delaware General Assembly and in major official misconduct investigations. He was a partner in a large Wilmington firm serving as its managing partner in the mid-1990's. He has tried numerous cases in the state and federal courts in a wide variety of areas as is evidenced by his list of representative cases shown below. He also has represented clients in environmental cleanup proceedings overseen by the EPA or Delaware Department of Natural Resources & Environment Control. He has served as a mediator and arbitrator in resolving numerous civil disputes.
He is a charter member of the Delaware chapter of the American Board of Trial Attorneys and has served as it Secretary/Treasurer since its inception. He opened Seitz, Van Ogtrop & Green, P. A. with its current partners on March 1, 1999.
